First a little Information:
Full Fashioned Stockings have been around since 1898. They were originally woven from fine Silk. They were also worn only by the Higher Class of Ladies.
During the Second World War Silk was needed by the Armed Forces for Parachutes so Manufactures stopped making the Stockings.
During the war a New miracle product called Nylon was perfected. It was ideal for making Stockings. Stockings were then referred to as Nylons or Nylon Stockings.
In the Fifties they were so popular with women. They wouldn't be caught on the streets without a pair adorning their legs.
